Having just bought an 07 E60, I looked a long time for a good manual and finally gave up. The 530 is definitely the 6cyl that I wanted, because I didn't want turbos. Almost bought it, but ended up buying a 550 (auto) instead.
I'd say if it's in good nick, has clean history and was well-maintained, and is at a price you're looking for, go for it. I'm pretty damn happy with mine.

Edit: just noticed the d in the name. Wish we got the diesels over here.
